Thisll be the area discussing the rules and magic types within this universe,These are things to be aware of especially if you decide to want to make a character within this universe and or just for funsies i dont know why youre here, this is something i threw together
Rules
- Air Magic has not been obtained, no matter what the Julus entrance exam believes, that exam is false
- You do not have to have the thing for your magic around at all times to use it(besides Collectors magic)
- You are born with one type of magic alone, though it can change and vary as you get older and change with your personality.Having more then one is extremely rare, and immedially would get someone seen as high status(besides Collectors as they techially have a birth magic types and magical items)
- Magitech is illegal in this world and seen as an afront to the gods per say. so its much harder to get into the the schools that check for Magitech
- Magitech is more a DIY Project then a scientist messing with your body, though it does require hefty magical knowlege, and if youre found with it within a school, even as far back as elematary, you will be expelled
- Not necesilary a rule but this is a Steampunk Based fantasy universe so please keep that in mind
Now onto what your actually here for The magic types and their drawbacks
Magic Types
- Illusionist Magic:A Type of Magic where you can change how people view things/others. Drawbacks:Being seen as a Criminal, and Hallucations
- Fire Magic:A Type of Magic where you can create and control fire,as well as change its tempature. Drawback:Needing something cold almost constantly due to a much higher body tempature naturally within your body.
- Water Magic:A Type of Magic where you can create and control Water, as well as change its salt content,and type of water. Drawback: Chronically dehydrated, its almost mandatory for a water user to have a thing of water with them at all times to remain hydrated
- Ice Magic:A Type of Magic where you can create and control Ice, as well as making it colder if seen fit. Drawback:Lower body tempature and frequently needing to layer
- Earth Magic:A Type of Magic where you can create and control Rocks and dirt. Drawback:Rubble falls as they walk(typically causing a dirt and rock mess in the process)
- Lightning Magic:A Type of Magic where you can create and control Lightining. Drawback: Occasional self shocka(nothing bad more just like a hit to the hand)
- Metal Magic:A Type of Magic where you can create and control Metal,Drawback:Iron Defiancy
- Magitech:Someone illegally changing their body to either change their magic type, enhance their magic, or have two at once, also give themseleves magic though that reason is not very common even for poorer folks.Drawbacks: Has to cut their arms/legs and even possible eyes open to put machinary into them or have to swallow machinary and let it expand inside their body from their mouth.
- Collectors Magic:Already has a magic type but collects magical objects and uses them as a main source,Julus school refers to this as Beggers magic and theyre not allowed admission.Drawback:havng to carry thousands of objects and remeber what they all do.
- Voice Magic:Someone having a voice that could hit banshee and siren screams levels of loud in their own voice. Drawback:Users of this magic often devolp hearing prblems and even a slight let go of control while speaking to someone can cause you to set off the screaching. Funfact: It is twice as likely for someone born deaf/with any sort of hearing issues to have this magic type.
- Phantom Magic:A Type of Magic where you can control ghosts, pull magic from etheral planes, and can be fear inducing to others,as well as make yourself invisble. Drawback: Seeing the dead with all the details of how they died written on their body so to speak.
- Weapon Magic:A Type of Magic where you can pull weapons out of your body,(this does not inherently require large things of skin showing and even then if you want that adults do have to fill out hefty amounts of paperwork and still keep it genrally sfw,Minors cannot sign up for this process) Some prefer to pull the weapons out of their necks or heads, others more forearms or palms of hands, its entirely up to the magic user themseleves. Drawback: Doing heavy studies on weaponary,and having to be careful as to not drop it while pulling it out of your body
- Biomancy:Magic about the manuplation of biological life,(Plants, animals, people) as well as creating biological life. Drawbacks:Hard to control, requires hefty study,rare, Frequent Nightmares.
- Blood Magic:A type of magic where you can control your own blood or create blood to use as a weapon.Drawbacks:Fast HeartRate, Blood Pooling.(These users are issued compression socks and forearm gloves that also compress due to this)
- Abiotic Magic:A type of Magic where you can control and create dead things (hair, plants, Animals, people) though unlike necromancy does not invole bringing thoose things alive but instead piloting them like a parasite within a corpse.Drawbacks:Thicker Blood, Slower HeartRate,slowl grey skin starting at the finger tips,and an almost vauge rigor mortis esque thing to thoose gray areas even if non deadly.
- Gravity Magic:A Type of Magic where the user can create and control gravity. Drawback: harder to control, requires precison as to not crush everything in its path. Heavy footsteps,though not as rare as some other magic types its also not the most common.
